My topic for my essay is how Sula experience freedom in a different way than normal people in  today’s world experience freedom. Sula thoughts on freedom were different from everyone  else’s view and the reason why is because she had basically pushed away from it and she felt like  it served her no purpose in using it. Sula was like that because she barely deals with people, and  the reason why is because she doesn’t really want conflict within people in her community. The  reason why Sula had got to this point is because of some of the bad choices she has made and  some of the different things she has grown up in and around in life. One sticking point about  Sula is that she is fighting for freedom of black women in her community she grew up in. Sula  was very helplessness also and the reason why is because some people looked at her different  because she was black woman who grew up in a racial society. Another reason why she was like  that is because the environment she grew up in had less resources and her gender made her feel  caved in to where she couldn’t meet her full potential. One main thing that goes unnoticed about  Sula when it comes to freedom was that she was feeling like she was getting turned away from  society as a whole and the reason why is because some of the things from her past such as  sleeping with men’s and the reason why she was doing that because she felt like that was her  sexual freedom. Sula was going to bed with men as frequently as she could it was the only place  where she could fine what she was looking for misery and the ability to feel deep sorrow. “One  quote that stood out to me is in 1940 and it states that well I guess that’s it you own the world  and the rest of us is renting. You ride the pony and we shovel the shit. I didn’t come up here for

this kind of talk Sula.” Another quote that stood out to me is in 1940 and it states what you mean  take him away ? I didn’t kill I just fuked him. If we were such good friends how come you  couldn’t get over it “?” You laying, there in bed without a dime or a friend to your name having  done all the dirt you did in this town and you still expect folks to love you”.Those things Sula  was doing could have been avoided if people would have just listen to her and not pushing her  away to where she had to adapt to life in hard ways to where normal people don’t have to do.  Sula freedom was kind of taking for granted by other because she kind of related to others on a  different spectrum because she was mainly looking out for others like for example the black  women’s in her community.
